Buzz, buzz! Bees are some of the hardest workers in the animal kingdom, and without them, many plants wouldn’t grow. Bees help flowers and crops like watermelons, apples, and tomatoes by spreading pollen. This process, called pollination, is what allows plants to produce fruit and seeds.
A bee’s day is full of tasks. Worker bees collect nectar from flowers to make honey, while others guard the hive or take care of baby bees. The queen bee lays hundreds of eggs every day, keeping the hive busy and growing.
There are simple ways you can help bees. Planting flowers, creating small gardens, or placing water bowls outside can provide bees with food and water. Schools and communities are also joining the effort by starting "bee-friendly" projects. Some even build tiny homes for bees, called bee hotels!
The next time you see a bee buzzing around a flower, give it a little cheer—it’s working hard to make our world a better place. Maybe one day, you’ll become a beekeeper or a scientist studying bees and their role in the environment.
