The Biblical Account of Creation
The creation story is found in the first two chapters of the book of Genesis in the Bible. - God completed His work and rested on the seventh day, blessing and sanctifying it.
Genesis 2: The Creation of Humans
The second chapter of Genesis provides a closer look at the creation of humans:
- God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him.
- He placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to tend it and gave him responsibility over all the animals.
- God created Eve from one of Adam’s ribs, making her a companion and helper for him.
This narrative highlights the special relationship between God and humanity. Humans were created in God’s image, making them unique among all His creations.
