Grade Level: 7
Topic: The Days of Creation
Duration: 45 minutes
Objective:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Identify what God created on each of the seven days.
Understand the significance of the order of creation.
Reflect on the meaning and purpose behind God's creation and the seventh day of rest.
Instructions:
After reading the story of creation in Genesis 1 and participating in the live lesson, complete the following assignment. This will help you reflect on God's creation and your role in taking care of it.
Part 1: Creation Reflection Journal
Write a short reflection (100-150 words) answering the following questions:
What is your favorite part of God’s creation?
Describe why it is special to you. It can be anything from animals, plants, the sun, moon, or even humans.
How can you take care of God's creation?
Think about ways you can protect the environment, help animals, or show kindness to other people, who are also part of God's creation.
Part 2: Drawing Activity
Draw something that God created.
Use a blank page to draw one thing God made on any of the days. Label the drawing with what it is and the day on which it was created (e.g., "Day 4: Stars" or "Day 3: Trees").
Part 3: True or False Questions
Answer the following questions with True or False:
On Day 1, God created the sky.
On Day 4, God created the sun, moon, and stars.
God created humans on Day 6.
God rested on Day 7.
On Day 3, God made the animals.
Submission Guidelines:
Submit your reflection and drawing in class on or before [5th Oct].
This lesson focuses on God's omnipotence, teaching learners that God is the ultimate Creator of everything seen and unseen. The emphasis is on His creative power, as everything came into existence by His word.
God did not create everything the same. The stars are different from the sun, birds are different from fish, and each type of plant and animal has its own characteristics. This shows us that God values diversity. Everything works together to maintain balance in the world, and each part of creation plays an important role in God’s plan.
Find pictures of three different things in nature that show God's creativity and power.
Write a few sentences explaining why you chose each one.
Learners will explore the concept of being made in God’s image, understanding that humans are unique among creation because they reflect God’s character in their ability to think, love, create, and make moral choices.
Because humans are made in God’s image, we have a special role to play. God gave us the responsibility to take care of His creation, including animals, plants, and the environment. We are also called to show love and kindness to one another. When we make good choices, we reflect God's character to the world.
write down three things you can do this week to take care of the world or show love to others. You should be ready to share one of your actions in the next class.
